Learning is a two-way street. At the last conference, we engaged with FD practitioners – not only to teach and enlighten but listen and learn. Thus, our hopes of improving the profession and the lot of practice teams new to it can be grounded and insightful rather than aspiration and out of touch.
The narrower our focus or specialism the greater the need to stay connected with general practice and other specialisms in dentistry. A multidisciplinary core of shared knowledge makes for a stronger more connected profession.
The society has regularly hosted the launch of new techniques and materials that expand the boundaries of established practice.
Beyond our successful conferences and growing membership, we were instrumental in the establishment of the FGDP and are now a key mover in supporting the move towards establishing a College and ultimately Royal College of Dentistry.
